    Best Routers of 2015

Routers may not be the most exciting piece of technology out there, but with the proliferation of smartphones, tablets, streaming boxes, smart TVs and more, the need for a good wireless router in modern homes is undeniable. Streaming services and online gaming can put a lot of strain on your local network and router, and if you’re sticking with the free option you get as part of your ISP deal, you might notice your connection slowing to a crawl when multiple devices are fighting for bandwidth.

We've gone through dozens of expert reviews and long-term usage impressions from actual owners to bring you the best router you can buy in three distinct price points...

The proper title for the TechSpot article should've been "The best consumer grade routers of 2015". Entry level enterprise network equipment can easily run circles abound consumer grade ones.

I ditched my old consumer Wi-Fi for an enterprise solution—and I’ll never go back.

I use WiFi, like most everyone else, but I'm in NO WAY a WiFi guru, so excuse me if I'm not familiar with an 'Enterprise solution'.
Can I get an explanation of just what that entails?

I run three routers in my home.
My main router, connected directly to my Cable Modem is an Intellinet 300N router, and connected to it I have a Linksys 54G router that is connected to an outside Yagi antenna that provides WiFi to a friend 500'+ down the road from me.

My third router is a Trendnet 150N that provides WiFi to the other PC's in my house. It's small, inconspicuous and works great for short distance use.

I didn't read any reviews or other articles in selecting my routers. I've run Intellinet routers for several years now after paying $149 for my first one, at the Computer Wholesale house, where I buy a lot of my PC parts. The other two routers were given to me by my customers.

So pretty much, I run what works, for my specific applications. The Linksys 54G is the only one with a removable antenna, so that was by default the only one I could connect an outside antenna to.

    Cheers Mates!
