Pretty neat that the magnetic smart cover is a functioning keyboard and trackpad

This won't be any good it's got Windows 8 on it

Or to put it more correctly Windows RT.

    Better make it both

Looks mighty interesting. I'm not sure I'd be interested in an Intel tablet over an actual ultrabook, but for bummin' around the house this would be very interesting in the ARM variant. Heck, given it can do RemoteApp and connect into VDI farms, it's got a place there as well without the cost of additional software or the inability to print.

Believe me tablets can become very habit forming, they're instantly on and light, even on an iPad you can do most things, mainly on the consumption side though. So having a full blown PC on a tablet will be awesome. But I've still got a couple of PCs and laptop as well.

Interesting , a 10 incher - seems like they are taking on Apple.

Looks a gorgeous device - could tempt many.

I've got a tablet and I don't find it very useful at all....it's certainly not habit forming. it's fine for a quick bit here and there, but whenever I want to spend some real time on the net, I set it down and grab my laptop. This device with a keyboard would easily be more beneficial. But from what I have heard it the ARM version will cost MORE than an iPAD and the Intel version will be more inline with a full price Ultrabook. I'd rather just have a full fledged laptop myself.

They will have to get the pricing right - it is an incredibly important marketing tool.

Well you can't have an iPad then, because it's pretty quick on the net, that's why I use it more and more because it's so quick on the net. I love tablets and I know I'm not the only one the market is growing at a huge rate of knots. But I'll always have a couple of PCs, I don't call myself BillWindows for nothing.

Microsoft has built its own tablet for Windows 8, so I figured it deserved its own thread. In the past, MS concentrated on software, allowing different companies to work on hardware, and the plan worked. Apple, on the other hand, designed its own hardware, with the software and hardware...
