Good try but really -- C'mon get real.

Whatever you might think of W8 whether good or bad there is NO way this stuff is going to find its way into any sensible sized business whatsoever. (Certainly not in the short term and maybe never-- have these guys never sat in a "bog standard " help desk environment -- a lot of people even have trouble when they get a new laptop trying to find the ON switch -- so good luck in explaining to users the new gui etc).

And it's not only people perceived to be "fairly computer illeterate" who have problems either.

I rented a new car recently and was really embarrased when at a Petrol / Gas station I couldn't find a) the mechanism to "unlock" the petrol cap and b) even to find out where to fill the tank up -- and I'm an Engineer too. !! (Wasn't my best moment to say !!).

I'm sure people thought I'd just stolen the car -- although I was at pains to say if I was going to steal a car it would be a BMW or a Merc !! not a rubbish cheap rental car.

Most businesses are just beginning a W7 upgrade -- they won't even THINK of another one for at least 5 - 7 years.

Even Ms is recommending businesses to upgrade from XP to W7 -- in fact they have quite openly said DON'T attempt an XP==> W8 upgrade in one go.

MS need to get real over this as see Win8 for what it is. It's primarily designed for phone and tablet use. If they can get it onto a few laptops/desktops then that's going to be a bonus but I wouldn't want to be manning an OEM helpline. If they push it (which they probably will) into the OEM market then the howls will start.

I wish they'd called the thing MS Metro or Windows Metro rather than Win8. Maybe they'll be a few cheap unlicensed new Win7 packages for sale which I can sell on when 'upgrading' those folks from Win8 to Win7 - LOL.

So Jimbo, what's your point, did you take the car back because you couldn't find where to fill up the car, I doubt it, once somebody showed you it's easy. It will be the same with Windows when the retail version comes out a short video and a PDF Guide on the desktop and you're ready to go.
Like you said MS is not forcing this on business at the moment, once people have it on their tablets, laptops and desktops etc, it will be a walk in the park.
