Microsoft to discontinue OneDrive Groups October 16th

I need help. I don't recall receiving any e-mail from Microsoft about One-Drive groups. I'm trying to find out if it affects me. I have two questions below to see if it affects me. Thank you.

What are the names of the groups in OneDrive Groups?

What is "Shared" in OneDrive Groups?

Thank you, Barman, but the article in your above post is dated April 2014 and has nothing to do with the newest information for OneDrive Groups from Microsoft a couple of weeks ago.

From your post i thought you were looking for how things worked to check if you had used OneDrive Groups ;)

A link at the bottom of my first link will tell you of the strange way that the demise of the groups feature actually took place - I can recall the e-mail giving official notice of the end of the feature, but I deleted it as I had never user the feature.

Microsoft OneDrive Groups is Gone | Cloud content from Windows IT Pro

Probably the easiest way to see if you had used the feature to work with other users is to check for a section called Groups in your OneDrive’s navigation pane, if it is not there then you have nothing to worry about :)

Are you referring to File Explorer for doing the check? OneDrive is listed there, but it is empty. How do I get to OneDrive's navigation panel?

Barman, sorry for getting back to you so late. I've been busy taking care of some personal things as well as checking for anything on my computer in OneDrive on File Explorer, including all folders listed in left panel as well as on my Norton 360. I did go to the OneDrive website and it didn't list GROUPS. Per your picture in above post, under Groups you have listed a name of your group. Question: that group "Win7Buddies" that was created by you or someone else where you can reply to each other and other people can join the group, and the local folder would be listed in File Explorer, correct? If correct, then I have nothing to worry about because I have never created a "Group" or joined a "Group" created by someone else.

I do have a few questions though, just to confirm about some items that I'm not sure about......I will post them on Monday, 9/14. Over this weekend I will sort out the questions.

Thanks, Barman, an have a great weekend.

Yes the group was created by a member of SevenForums.com, during the beta testing of Windows Seven. I'd forgotten that I'd ever done anything with groups but found that snip in my library so posted it as an illustration.

As I was not the originator of the group, the group only appears on-line, not on my local system, I can access the content on-line and if I wish can copy content to my local system, I cannot delete the originals however

I'm sorry for the lateness of this post. Thank you for your help. Based on all the info you've provided, I believe I'm not part of any group and have not created any group and no groups are listed in the online onedrive. I do have one question for you though. In File Explorer there is a folder listed on the left side of the panel called "Homegroup". I didn't create it, but I just want confirmation that it does not have anything to do with onedrive groups. And, since there is nothing in it that suggests I "shared" with anyone and was not invited to join one created by someone else, I'm cleared. I'm also assuming that "Homegroup" is originally part of File Explorer. Oh, just one more question, should I have File Explorer opened when I go to OneDrive online? Thanks for all your help, Barman.
