Surface 3 (4G LTE) now available in the U.S.!

A few weeks ago we announced the availability of the mobile broadband-capable Surface 3 (4G LTE) for business customers in France, Germany, Spain, and the UK, with the promise that details for consumer availability and launch dates in additional markets, including the United States, would be forthcoming. Today I’m happy to announce that Surface 3 (4G LTE) is on sale in the United States beginning today, July 24[SUP]th[/SUP].

We offer two unlocked versions – 64GB and 128GB versions – through Microsoft stores, authorized resellers and partner retailers. U.S. Microsoft stores also have AT&T and T-Mobile SIM cards on hand to help you connect quickly to your network and get down to work.

In addition to selling the device through retail and reseller partners, we see tremendous value in working with mobile operators to offer Surface 3 (4G LTE). Beginning today, AT&T is the first U.S. operator to offer Surface 3 (4G LTE) to consumers through AT&T stores. Additionally, beginning July 31, T-Mobile will sell to business customers through their @Work channel. For more information about the Surface 3 at T-Mobile @Work, customers can contact an @Work representative.

Surface 3 brings the best of Surface Pro 3 in a compact and affordable package, and the 4G LTE version will be a great fit for a lot of people who need to stay connected beyond the reach of Wi-Fi. I’m excited to see the availability of the Surface 3 (4G LTE) growing and will provide future updates as we have them.

I dont see the use of one of these. My laptop does what I need it to do, and it wasnt over priced like these tend to be.

My SP3 cost as much as an i7 ultrabook would have. I'll admit, at first I had a bit of buyer remorse, but I'm more than happy with this tablet, much more so than I would have been with an ultrabook.
