Microsoft should have told openly how they are planning to release update to the persons who have reserved. Unknown indefinite wait either in a few days or weeks has no meaning. It is grand flaw on part of MS.
It's worked for many others, so it is a solution.
I do not deny it has worked, but for many or a few is very difficult to say. Why it has not worked for me? Is there any way to know?
I don't know that, have you tried asking at Windows 10 Forums ?

I suppose any of us expecting a 'perfect' launch of any Window from MS is in the realms of fantasy.

Given that over 14 million PC's were upgraded in the first two days I'd say it went pretty smoothly.

I dont mean the distribution, but the product. Failure reports, I would say, outweigh the successes. I suppose it depends on the pc involved.

With any release of this type you have to take account of human nature - the ones making most noise will be those who are experiencing issues, most users who have a trouble free experience will not normally feel the need to share their experience, the simply carry on and use Windows 10, (that gives me an idea for a poster )

Ok me me me! I had perfect installs using the
Installing Windows 10 using the media creation tool

The media creation tool can be used to upgrade your current PC to Windows 10 or to create a USB or DVD and install Windows 10 on a different PC.
My Windows 8.1 update desktop automatically activated and everything carried over except the video drivers(that's normal) I just went to my AMD folder and reinstalled Catalyst. My Windows 7 SP1 laptop upgraded perfectly with it too, and I just had to reinstall the Intel HD Graphics, everything else carried over. Now It's time to get louder then the Issues People:

While the Media Creation Tool was great, for me anyway it was. It bailed me out. The Get Windows 10 App was a colossal failure, IMHO. It took forever to just get to the Validating screen. I'm talking after the download was completed. 3 of my PC's sat there for hours and hours either showing Validating or Almost done. With no hint as to how much longer things might take. I started monitoring things around 8 AM. It was late in the afternoon when I finally said enough was enough and went to the MCT to get it done.

Alpha that's why Windows and Microsoft in general are always preferred by me, in comparison to many other OS's(that I've tried and used for a while) and their Devs. Microsoft always use many different paths to get the job done. Some might call it Double redundancy, I call it plans B, C, and D!

    I agree with you.
What I wanted to say is that problem is not with media creation tool. Problem is proper planning. MS wanted to please all regions in the world. But failed. Many has to change region and language to US. Then the tool worked. At present I am in US. I changed home pc with US region and US-en. Media Creation tool worked fine. In my laptop with non-US also went fine on 1st Aug, as per GWX. But problem is with Dell Venue 8 Pro. Thought bought in USA, with even US settings, could not be upgraded in Bay Area, CA, USA. Hence my post.

I have did three upgrades and a clean install and with key finder they all have the same key for the install and used the in bedded key for the clean install on a laptop, a dv9720us HP that has video chip driver issues but it did install and running at 1024x786 instead of 1440 by 900 but it is running windows 10 Pro. Toshiba Laptop with Tech preview just went to an activated version and Windows 10 Pro no issues. <\My newer desktops with i5 cpu;s are waiting for the upgrade says (OK notify me when ready) > I have burned both the 64 and 32 bit to disc and downloaded the iso's for future installs. Need drivers for a Nvidia 7150 mobile 630 at end of model number.
