There's only 1 version of the RP right? Nothing about having to choose a version to run like some rumors stated

I want some of the drugs management at MS is taking if they think this piece of failware is going anywhere.

Have you actually used the Release Preview or are you going along with what the media says. The media said bad things about Vista and still do and Vista isn't that bad. Windows 8 is actually pretty good if people would stop crying and actually learn it. It has some cool new features and is very fast.
I don't go by the media. I used the DP, CP and downloaded the RP as soon as it was available. Yes, they fixed a few glitches that people that LIKE the metro interface were complaining about, but it is STILL there. It is hideous and not meant to be used as a desktop interface.

PS: Look up my posts on the vista forums, I loved it since M1 -- but I had the hardware to handle it. My hate of Win8 isn't about hardware, it is about the hideous, God awful ugly, mouse / keyboard UNFRIENDLY, interface. Did I mention God awful ugly?

I must say I'm astonished how fast the Win8 RP is. Everything runs so smoothly and the computer boots in literally no time at all!

Don't do it, Brian! You'll start using Windows Vista if you do!

I'd actually PREFER to.......at least it has a decent UI. And a bit of eye-candy.

Downloaded and installed, dual boot with Windows 7. Had some hurdles to overcome to get it installed and working properly. If I had to describe it in one word it would be "WHY". Why is it so unintuitive? Seems like a big step backward to me.

Tried doing an upgrade using Windows8-ReleasePreview-UpgradeAssistant.exe and got the same error others mentioned about my computer not supported for Win 8.

Booted the iso Windows8-ReleasePreview-64bit-English.iso and did a clean install to the same drive I had the Customer Preview install to and all is well. Took about 30 minutes on my Dell Precision 370, P4 3.4Ghz Dual Thread, 4GB Ram, oodles of drive space.

As others have said, it's quick.

My slow connection here in Mexico took five hours to download. Go to microsoft.com and start the installation, and then go to bed. It will be there in the morning.
