    lol

You know what I take issue most with? I've told you more times than I can count about what is causing your problems, your refuse to remove it, you then ask for help in many other threads still, and then have the amazement to come in this thread and say it is working well.

What can I say but I don't know your perfection, but I am confident in your knowledge and in your sincerity. But again, that forum stated that there was a shutdown problem without any 3rd party software intervention, proof no. You've helped me numerous times. And I am hoping you will continue to come to the rescue {:-))!

Stop saying it is working fine and I will leave you to create your other countless threads to fix the problem and laugh without typing a word.

I don't think that's a wise term to label someone such as myself that has tried to help your computing issues at least a dozen times and remained very patient throughout while the advice was refused to be put into practice, someone that had to read how other sites say this or that instead, and someone that for the sake of continuing to help the community as a whole, has had to refute your incorrect claims of a product working well.

I do what I do because it's a way I can give positive energy to the world in a way that is easy for me to do so. It gives me enjoyment to make others happy.

I was attempting to be cute, I mentioned numerous times the value I place on your council, thoroughly out of unpaid generosity.
Until you produced the anecdotal evidence to support your claim that Norton was the problem, I had to take you at you word and again I do not know your perfection. So when you what might be termed, ISSUED your ultimatum about ceasing my positive experiences with Norton and towing the line of your thought processes, or be cut off from your assistance (blackmail style) of my "countless threads" and to be laughed at whenever I run into another issue due to my lack of your knowledge, I, in the most polite way indicated that I thought this was not a fun thing. I am sorry to have offended you as you have been a of great assistance and I would not like to loose your council and help. But that is entirely your choice.
    Cheers

My long-standing policy is not to work on machines with Norton. Don't take it personal.

    Hello GMan,
I understand your viewpoint, although the reply seemed personal, but friendly funny, the GMan personality I've come to appreciate, but you have helped me and does this mean you won't help anymore, even if I don't mention Norton again?

    Hello GMan,
I have removed Norton Internet Security from my W8CP machine. I have enabled Windows Firewall and Windows Defender, updated and did a complete scan. Everything good. Now it hasn't been much experience, but since the change it most certainly appears as if my shutdown hangup problem has disappeared. It has not affected the Windows defrag not working properly though.
I used the Norton Uninstall and the Norton Management unistaller. CCleaned it so I believe I got it all out.
Do you concur or is there more that needs to be checked to make sure Norton is completely off this machine?
You and a multitude of fellow members, even in the W7 forum have maintained that Norton is at the least a resource hog. I am hoping all of you are correct as I don't want no dang viruses {:-))!
Thanks for convincing me to give it a try.
