    It has just been released.

    Some features

    1. See your favorite sites on startup for maximum convenience
    2. Save time with 1-click access to favorite bookmarks & widgets
    3. See everything easily thanks to large dials in bold colors
    4. Search the web quickly and directly from your start page
    5. Benefit from dial sizes directly related to your personal visits
    6. Optimize MySites by using all 3 pages: Most Visited, Favorites, and Apps

    And here are some screenshots.

Bizarre. I Wonder why they would bring out a UI so similar to Metro given the wishy washy metro user experience.
Having the button sized based on your web usage is pretty interesting. I think it would be sort of weird to have someone use the computer after you and see what you do most online at a glance.

There was a similar thing released for firefox last year (I think it does other browsers too). I guess if you really want a Metro'ish look and feel to everything, you could use these start pages, along with Rainmeter and Omnimo for your desktop

You can make Rainmeter look a lot better than Metro.
