Yes, I'll admit I'm a bit of a build junkie, no matter how close or far Microsoft takes the OS to my likings.

For sure, there will always be something better coming with. And, I believe MS have good ears.

Awesome! I'm guessing I will have re install windows from CP, it wouldn't just be a regular update right? (which is ok because of that good old windows.old folder) Either way I'm looking forward to this. After being very skeptical, Windows 8 has grown on me for sure.

You can upgrade by running the setup.exe in the Sources folder, after copying the contents of the new .iso when mounted, to a hard drive folder.

If you currently have any Windows issues, then I recommend a custom install which then would leave the Windows.old folder, yes.

If you upgrade, I would remove any 3rd party security program(s) in safe mode with it/their specific removal tools, first.

Greetings, I currently have Windows 8 Release Preview, it is my main OS. I have many programs, files, settings, etc. My question is when the final version of Windows 8 comes out will I be able to upgrade to that version from my current version (Windows 8 Release Preview). What I mean by upgrade...
I kind-of like Windows 8, but do you?
My sound used to work in the consumer preview fine but since I upgraded to the Release Preview I need the volume max and headphones in to hear anything. Any help appreciated. If more info is needed just ask.
5510We have info that Windows 8 Release Candidate will be called "Release Preview" and that will be launched sometime in late May or early June. But we must say that all these are just rumors. 5509 Source: winunleaked
