Those who wish to enable the 'old' search interface features:
In a new tab navigate to 'about:config' (without quotes), press enter, click on "I'll be careful, I promise", navigate to 'browser.search.showOneOffButtons' which will be set to True by default, double click on the entry to toggle it to False, restart your browser.

    (toogle!? You get the point!)

It was a financial move. Google decided to not renew their contract with Mozilla. You still can set Google as your default search.

I have to say when IE and Chrome fails, FF has always functioned for me.

Chrome is my default, but with the FF new sync features (which work without a flaw), I have seriously considered switching, and many parts are much easier to use. Though the plugins portion (not extensions) still needs work.

But, their default page always asking for donations is a bit irritating. I already donated, I should be able to turn it off somehow.

Anyone still use Firefox SyncPlaces? How to specify FTP port other than default? I can't find anyplace in the wizard or settings to put in a port number. I could export the json file and upload but it's a lot easier to do it right from the browser using the statusbar buttons. :)
