Internet Explorer trumps Chrome, Firefox, Opera in battery test

I can't wait until IE 10 is released for Win 7. I would assume it will be. I spend most of my time in Win 8 CP, but do spend enough time in Win 7 that I do notice a small difference between IE 9 and IE 10.

Win8 uses less power than Win7, so that may have an affect on the results.

I've ran Peacekeeper on Chrome several times with no errors or crashes, another question mark for this test.

I used to use Opera. It was designed for older machines, because it takes you on the web and does little else. Then everybody found out that it is faster on better machines.

What else do you want a browser to do? Opera does include features that I don't use like email, a newsgroup reader, and even a BitTorrent client and it has a built in spell checker. I just wish that it would resize photos to fit the screen like Chrome or IE.

Welcome aboard, Anglicus. Can you explain what happened?
Well nothing rerally. It was working and now it's not. I am going to re-install Windows 8 again, fingers crossed. They still don't seem to solved the problem of "explorer cannot display webpage", which is annoying.

Hi there
Why don't you post the link of the Web Page you can't display.

That way
we can do one of the following

1) Agree with you
2) fix the problem
3) cannot fix the problem
4) decide if your post has any merit or is just "Trolling"

We all know in complex OS's stuff can work on one machine but fail on another -- but with snipping tool the sensible option is obviously to post your result of what happens when you attempt to logon to the site that is giving you problems.

If you are using xp or earlier "snagit" will capture your image ==> or even prt-scr.

But Opera does have a slider at the bottom that allows you to zoom from 20% - 300% without using a menu or Crtl++ so you can see badly formed extra wide pages, and inspect minute details in images. Why not try the Opera Next Beta/Alpha, since Windows 8 is a beta OS itself.
Talking of having zoom sliders, so does Maxthon, a fast, webkit browser with loads of features, including a webpage snapshot tool, and the best HTML5 rendering of any browser at the current time, according to HTML5test.com

Why would I troll, have I tried to sell you something? I am using Fedora 17 alpha at the mo. but when I boot back into Windows I will take a screen shot. This also happens in Windows 7.

Hi there
not saying YOU are TROLLING -- but if you could simply post the link of the website that's causing problems we can all "Get on the case" and see what's hapenning.

I don't CARE what the site is actually showing -- everybody to their own -- I just want to see what the problem is, whether it happens on my machine, and if it does see if I can come up with a fix.

Cheers
