Screenshots of upcoming Office version leaked, new theme

Microsoft is busy preparing a "Windows Technical Preview" for later this month, but the software maker is also privately testing an "Office Technical Preview" for the next version of its popular Office suite. Sources familiar with Microsoft’s Office plans tell The Verge that the company has been distributing copies of a future version of Office to partners and testers recently, providing an early look at new features.

Hi there

"We have Yesterday's Technology Tomorrow" ....

The Black theme as already pointed out exists in Office 2010 and 2007 and I must admit I HATED the clippy thing - was it in Office XP or earlier - can't remember - but why they want to bring it back is beyond me.

The white background on Office 2013 with minimal customising possibilities was a dreadful idea - any even BEGINNING developer could have said it won't be as popular as the older themes on Office 2007/2010. Obviously Ms has decided finally that The Customer knows best.

Seems the way to get money is to remove a popular feature (Black theme) in a release - and then hopefully when people have forgotten about it bring it back in a newer release so people "Update" again.

Glad I kept Office 2010 / 2007.

Cheers
jimbo

Clippy was in Office 2000 Pro and ended up uninstalling it. If I wanted a cartoon character in my Office I would’ve gone to Disney. :p

LOL! I was too busy with business to notice color themes. I don’t like the dark theme anyway. Reminds me of funerals. Give me bright!
