Microsoft re-releases August Update (Update 2) Windows 8.1

Microsoft has re-released its second major update for Windows 8.1, also known as the August Update (Update 2 for those keeping track). The update originally launched on August 12, but was pulled a few days later due to a few bugs which rendered 0.01% of users unable to use their PC's properly. Either way, the update is back in Windows Update with all bugs squashed, so get updating!

For me, it happens in RDP only. Even if I apply this fix, it comes again with a reboot :(

Hi there

I'm sure you DON'T have to install the updates but in general I've always found it worthwhile.

In any case if you image your system BEFORE installing the update you can always restore if it doesn't work as expected - so I can't really see what the problem is.

Cheers

Hi, mine shows as 267KB in Windows Update. Is there a problem with it?

This is an optional update anyway, so if there's no use for what it offers, there should be no problem at all.

I have checked in Installed updates and the KB2975719 is already present - installed on 12.08. Did I have to uninstall it before applying the new KB2975719?

Thanks, werty

That's what I did, as they are same KB number it would not recognize it as new.

I am still unable to update it. Getting the same 800F0922 error code like the August one. Is there anything to do before getting fed up and wiping Windows?
