After the recent incident with the iCloud, I for one am more convinced than ever not to use the Internet cloud for backup. Even if you have a good connection, and most of us here in the US probably only run about 1 Mb upstream is still too slow, and the security risk in my opinion are too high. The cloud is great for sharing family photos, collaborating on projects, and posting documents such as resumes. However, when it comes to personal information of any sort the Internet is not the place to be.

Microsoft, Apple, and Google all need to do a better job of offering their cloud services as an integrated sharing option. And then possibly under the backup options the people decide if they want to put all their files on the cloud. However, the default saving your data on the cloud, or defaulted as your backup location, is aggravating that best.

I have 38GBs of free storage on OneDrive using it all the time with my 8.1 tower and 8.1 Lumia creating/editing Office files and sharing pics & files with others. It's nice to have and I like free. Having no limit on upload would be a plus.

I think it to be wise not to store personal-sensitive files there or even on one's own PC/device HD. They should be stored and backed up on exterior drives and taken offline when not in use. Encrypting them would be a plus of course.
