Thanks

Just what I was looking for -- ever since XP netmeeting disappeared there's only been paid and somewhat restrictive types of this stuff.

Am trying today -- should be great also on Surface Pro 3 which is exactly what I want to use it for.

The only "nag" is that you have to get it from the store and therefore have to create a Ms account -- this app is probably a "Sweetener" to get people like me to create a Ms account (I run all my Windows stuff as LOCAL accounts).

Cheers

Sorry for being a cynic, but its probably now free through lack of use. I have been with skype since almost day 1, and use it on occasion, not tried group yet though.

Hi there.

The lack of use was probably because it is a PREMIUM feature (not now). A lot of people using this type of Groupware were professional types who already had some type of office connectivity system such as lync etc.

IMO this type of application beats things like facebook by far since it's a genuine video (and voice) application -- a boon for people like me who NEVER got into texting at all -- I've actually NEVER sent ONE TEXT in my entire life !!! (must be the only person on the entire planet).

The drawback is though it requires a Microsoft Id to download and use it (unless that can be hacked around) -- so a backdoor way that Ms is using to get people to sign up to Ms accounts.

Cheers
