Yes, I had the German language pack loaded the first day I downloaded Win8. Quite refreshing to see my second language on a Windows OS.

    Hi there
I always thought I was reasonable with computers but I can't get the screen shown

First of all What do you mean by Set scope to On the Start page, type language, and make sure that the search scope is set to Settings.

Mine comes up with a totally different screen : Office Languages -- which is OK since I've already installed a language pack for OFFICE

Now I can't in any way at all get your example screen to install a display language.

I'm normally fine with computers but this instruction doesn't seem to work for me.

    Cheers

In this context 'Scope' simply means where you want to search. for language the place is 'Settings'

If you can't find the option through search, go to Control Panel/Language

Now I can't in any way at all get your example screen to install a display language.
Not mine, the guide is from Microsoft.

As you found out, not all are available yet. There will be more language support as development continues.
