Unless space on disk is tight, there's no reason to keep deleting those files so soon, they may be needed for "Who knows what may happen" time. Sometimes you can't tell for awhile if something is wrong. I keep mine at least until I'm sure next set of updates are OK. Come to think about it, I haven't cleaned them up since updating to 8.1.

Any one else not excited about Update 2? I was all gung ho about 8.1. Downloaded 8.1 U1 on day 1. A new shiny Windows button isn't going to impress me. 8.1 U2 will be the update I skip entirely. Waiting for a real update (8.1 U3) with the start menu back. Don't see the point in all these useless in-between updates anymore. Think I'll just continue to use Win 7 till the final 8.x update, so that I get everything in one ISO. That's when I might finally start using Win 8 for real on the upgrade license I purchased two years ago...

Jumping the gun a bit eh ? Wait and see, you might even like it and besides they may make it obligatory to have u2 to receive next updates.

Lol, they can make it as mandatory as they want. But, will they convince me not to choose "Windows 7" on the multi-boot menu?

I have dual boot With W7 too, not giving up on it either. Actually there's also a Linux in VM and on a USB so let them bring their worst, I'm ready.

I find this comment both tiresome and rather typical of this forum. It is really a shame. There is far less passive-aggressive on any other forums I look at (dirt-bikes in my case). No-one ever says "BMW is xxx" or "KTM is xxx". Each to their own.

Too many children allowed are here who don't know how to behave and only say Windows (xxx) is xxxxxxx
    perhaps?

Indeed, I'm in the same boat as you know Mike, an 80GB partition for W8.1. I'll have to run that disk cleanup to see what I can get back, that would free up plenty of room for WinDBG on my 8.1 install then.
