Due to a lack of interest, I think they are scrapping it.

And yet the Surface, lives on....
Hehehe, sorry, but when fed straight lines I find it difficult to resist.

It's because the surface pro has real processors and can run software people want which make it less like a tablet and more like a real computer.

What are the specs on the advertised processors? i3, i5, i7

There are different levels of i7.

The rt version did not have the flexibility that the windows 8 or windows 8 pro has. You are stuck with the MS store. You cannot download anything that is not in the store. Microsoft could not compete with the ipad in this way. The surface rt cost them more money to make, and those who compared the ipad to the rt picked the ipad because at the time the games sucked on the RT where the ipad did not

I like the surface pro 3 for the fact it is a tablet and a laptop. I do not like the pricetag. The 64 gig is a waste because you only get 35 usable. So one would want the 128 gig and up and the price is quite steep. I can get for my clients an asus ultra laptop for less and it has more memory and mor hd space. I just think MS priced it too high

You wouldn't want that i7-4960X in a battery operated device even with it's 14,000+ CPU Marks.

Agreed. I think the base price is actually quite attractive for such a device, but the ncreases in price for storage and memory upgrades are simply ridiculous.

I don't think price is that steep. A dell XPS 13 ultrabook is $1,749 for a 13" screen, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD with a Core i7. The Surface Pro Core i7, with 8GB of RAM, and 256GB SSD is $1,549. a 15" MacBook pro with 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD with a Core i7 is $1999...while the surface Core i7 with 8GB of RAM and 512GB SSD is $1,949.

The Asus ZenBook is just over $2,000 for a Core i7, with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Amazon.com : ASUS Zenbook UX301LA-DH51T 13.3" Quad-HD Display Touchscreen Laptop with Gorilla Glass : Laptop Computers : Computers & Accessories

So to me, for 2lbs of portability, and a higher resolution screen, I don't see where the Surface Pro 3 is overpriced.
