    Hi there.

Can't see the point of ANY mini tablet -- a decent smart phone will do anything a mini tablet will do AND MORE, is more portable and with screen mirroring is more useful also if you want to watch / project videos / demos to external TV's too without irritating HDMI cables.

I'm NOT speaking about the new Surface -- just Mini's.

Honestly what does a 7 in tablet give you that a decent Sammy S5 phone (or equivalent) doesn't apart from a very marginal bigger screen real estate size. Also it's 100% totally UNCOOL and looks absurd when a 7 inch tablet is used as a "Phablet" for making phone calls too. !! If you want to get totally laughed at and pitied in public just try making a call with one of those thingeys in a busy street !!.

    Cheers

Huge difference to me in reading a kindle book. My Samsung s3 can do it, but the smaller screen sucks. A 7 or 8 inch tablet is a much better experience. So, if you plan to use your tablet for a lot of reading, I see the point.

I have a Kindle Paperwhite. It cost me about $100.
    Kind of a huge difference.

    I do love it though...

    Hi there.

Why on earth use a tablet for reading an e-book -- any decent e-reader does the job so much better - and can be read in CLEAR sunlight - even at the beach. The batteries also last for ages and if you break / lose the device it's cheap enough to get another one. Using a decent e-reader is a lot easier on the eyes too.

The latest Kindle paper white's are really great -- however pretty well any e-reader will beat a tablet hands down for its prime purpose --e-book reading. (And for DE-DRMING the e-books simply use CALIBRE with the DE-DRM plugin - so you've always got backups even if you do lose the device).

Using CALIBRE also allows you to source other e-books - particularly from the free GUTENBERG project and also convert e-pub to kindle format and vice versa.
