    Hello Captain,

Are you already running Windows 8.1 and not Windows 8?

Google says it's 10.59 PDT, in Redmond, for me at least. Greenwich +1

Captain, California is in the Pacific Standard Time zone and is two hours behind us in the Central Standard Time Zone. When we sprang forward in time this Spring, so did California. They'll always be two hours behind us. Just as we're one hour behind the Eastern Standard Time zone.

So, when it's 1:00 PM here, it's 11:00 AM in Redmond. We probably have at least one more hour to wait. I won't confuse the issue any more by saying that when it's 2:00 PM in New York, it's 11:00 AM in Redmond.

Ah ok, so it's 12 pm PST the update comes out? I thought someone said it was 12 central.

They may have, Captain! They may have! Confusion reigns supreme on this update, to say the least.

BTW, in all 25 of those updates, KB2919355 was not included, so I'm still waiting. For some reason, methinks the MVPs will get the update a tad bit before we do. Which is fair, because they pour their hearts and souls into testing product for Microsoft. Several years ago, I was an MVP, but things changed and I could no longer devote the time to testing that I had before, so . . .

    Is this the update?

I am not sure because it is only a few MBs.

It's a glitch that sometimes happens. Refreshing (F5) the desktop or restarting the computer usually sorts it.

Nope . . . do you have other computers in your network? That are together in the Homegroup? If so, that's probably why.

Just right click a clear area on your desktop and hit Refresh and it should go away. I have seen it a few times myself.
