Thank's for the info on the key.
No; Reset is all you need to do except for backing up your data. (How many times have you been told this?)

I don't recall being told this before, why else would I ask again ?

Thank's for the Good Karma !
Oops, it sounds like I asked how many times you'd been told Reset is all you need, when what I meant was "How many times have you been told to back up your data"! Seems as how every time someone has answered one of your questions, they have said, "Back up your data."

Sorry about the misleading sentence; when I read it, I knew at once what I'd done. Sigh . . . C'mere StarFerret; more egg for ya.

I only d/l the Windows8.1-KB2919355-x64.msu update with the standalone installer.
It took a long time to go thru the motions as it had before. It got to the end and it just hung there looking at me.

Then all of a sudden it tells me the update was installed and a restart was needed.
So, now after many days of pulling out my hair by the handfuls, success !
    It is finally in.
Whoop! Whoop! Whoop! I am soooooooooo glad for you, Computiac!

lol, there was this one guy on another forum years ago who claimed, he took his tower out in the back yard and smashed it to smithereens with a sledge hammer. I think he posted pictures. He had some issue he couldn't sort out that pushed him over the edge. He got ribbed about it for quit a while.

Guessing he had sledge hammer regret the next morning, kind of like overdoing it at the local watering hole.

Aha! Maybe that's why I sent mine back to HP rather than smashing it!
