Really? I'll swap you then - my wife told me yesterday that the word "Gullible" had been removed from the state sanctioned official French-English dictionary. Not sure why.

Excel used to have a game in it but that was years ago - I forget which version.
On my birthday last week the google search page was festooned with birthday cakes, I assumed just for me. Somewhat concerning. I'll start worrying if my scheduled colonoscopy shows up on my calendar automatically. :-)

Well happy (belated) birthday mate. Mine is in may - I'll see what happens... I expect that Google knows my birthday (and lots more about me)

After you break into '40s, there's no "Happy Birthday" any more, it's "My Condolences" only.

    Hi there
and as you approach 55 you are now the "New Young" -- nice Pension, mortgages paid off no work / money worries and you can swan off round the planet as you see fit - even if you still work you can afford to take only those assignments you are genuinely interested in and work such hours as YOU want not "The Boss"-- and with current life expectancies and medical advances you could live almost another 50 years in this state. !!!!

Probably the most stressful and worrying age to be in these days is the bit from about 28 till 50. (the generation under me -- they'll have the most problems I suspect as it will be a few years before the economy sorts itself out and new jobs are found to replace the ever increasing automation of even quite skilled jobs now).

    cheers

Providing you have a good pension plan, of course. Or, in my case move to a country with favorable exchange rate. If I stayed in Canada, I would be hard pressed to pay for room and board, let alone to do more than when I worked full time, even with rare free weekends and all of that.

There are all kinds of them. In Canada, there are 2 government types of them of them. With one of them employer deducts some percentage ( I think it was 4%) of every dollar you earn and puts it in pension fond and amount you get is dependent on total money you payed into it. Can be received after you are 60 to 65 but with some penalty, and after you are 65, full. Of course, Quebec has it's own.
Other pension (Old age pension) you get anyway, just as a bonus for surviving after 65th birthday.
There are also private pension plans where you can pay certain amount each month and on the end you can collect pension according to what you payed in. State PPs are compulsory but private is not.
There are some other ways, like to invest in "Mutual funds" or thru life insurance.
