Mushkin is a fine brand. They replaced one of my SSDs within 24 hours - it was more than 1 year beyond the time the warrenty had expired. Since then they are on my top shelf. I now have 2 Mushkin SSDs and they are great.

Quality stuff for sure. At this point I'll likely wait for another big capacity thumb drive to go sale and give it a try. I bought the Lexar because it was on sale and a USB 3 drive.

GAM, am D/L this windows_8. 1 with update x64 dvd 4065090 ISO the thing is close to 4gig, and is taking forever with this magnet link and DSL, been D/L since noon, and still says 30 hrs to go, lol, man, but I want the ISO not just the windows update thing. Went through that crazy thing last time to get the W8 ISO burned.

I have a portable Linux on a 128GB flash drive. I can rescue up to 100GB of data from a system where the OS went belly up. Plus it is a beautiful system to work with. Very fast for the internet and I use a few nifty Linux programs for e.g. video editing, etc. Since I have access to every partition that's installed on the PC, I can move the data back and forth and between.
Other than just playing around with it, I haven't done anything with my WTG. I can see where it could be useful to recover files etc. I have access to Windows 8 Enterprise and an easy way to make one so I've done it. The only drag is its fusy about what thumb drives meet the requirements. It won't use the new 128 gig Lexar S23 USB3 JumpDrive I just bought, but its fine with an old laptop drive in an external enclosure. I'll likely make up some new DaRT thumb drives too.
    Hi there

I have a Windows 8.1 system as a VM on an external SSD which runs Linux Mint 16. The system boots entirely from the SSD and the Windows 8.1 VM runs faster than the NATIVE Windows system installed on most laptops using their standard HDD's.

I have Photoshop CS6, Office 2010, Video playing stuff, Video streaming, a lot of recovery tools and other programs so I can run these even on Works laptops without touching the installed system on the HDD.

I can switch languages etc etc --- very useful system. Especially if you travel or are on sites with crappy versions of software installed.

    Cheers

when my taskbar stays there it covers the arrow ,but in a few seconds the arrow disappears until I move my mouse off the taskbar, then the taskbar disappears and will not come back ,until I close the start and go to desktop, and go back into start . ,

Just noticed it myself, Task Bar is on "Auto hide" in Start menu weather it's set to or not for desktop. Weird eh ?
