Microsoft will reveal DirectX 12 later this month

Any word about hardware to Dx12? Can we run it on our dx11 cards, or is Nvidia and ATI making new DirectX 12 cards?

I'd say a new line of video boards for Windows 9

    Geforce 900 Series
    Radeon R11 Series

For a gamer this is kind of a mixed bag considering there aren't really any PC titles titles using "DX11.2" which Microsoft was dangling in our faces in order to persuade use to move to Windows 8.

Anyway for a lot of other apps using DX I suppose this is good news.

Ack no. I'm still on the Dx10 video card going to a Dx11 soon and now there we go again. I think that "Medal of Honor Warfighter" requires Dx11 video card.

There are quite a few DX11 titles out there now, whether through patch or outright game code. Example Skyrim though patch or Bioshock Infinite straight out. I'm just not quite sure there are any DX11.2 PC titles out yet, though there are 11.2 capable cards out.

My intended target is AMD HD7770 which supports Dx 11.1. Not much of a gamer myself, occasional Flightsim and when grand kiddies come. (computers are great baby sitters). Going to delay for a month as one of my monitors died and have to get new one. Newer testing software is asking for Dx 11 cards, so that puts a bit of a damper on work too.

By the time I can get myself some DirectX 12 hardware, and a game to play on it, DirectX 13 will be out.

    Well, I'm a gamer so...

That said, there are no DX12 cards out yet or else I'd have one
