But I wish some sort of this function will come out to the Windows PC!

I was too, but since this is a very private build of Windows Phone, I'd doubt Microsoft would be keen to let people leak confidential stuff like this and I'd doubt someone that is showing this wouldn't like to have their Microsoft Account blocked. In the video, there isn't even an internet connection active so it seems Cortana will work as TellMe already does on Windows Phone; it'll need an internet connection for the voice commands. But considering it'll use natural voice input, it'll need some computational power to do so.

I'm pretty freaking stoked for this!

The thing that's really exciting is that this might actually be something that blows everything out of the water. From all the very little leaked tidbits about Cortana, it seems as if it's going to be the closest definition of artificial intelligence as Cortana will rely heavily on machine learning and will adapt to the user. This is something that has been kind of foreshadowed here and there over the years by Steve Ballmer and a few execs.

Also fascinating, Microsoft once said they COULD release something like Siri on Windows Phone but chose not to as they're rather do something revolutionary versus evolutionary. Basically, it better be worth the while to do such a thing. It seems Cortana will be that.

I'd be interested in this phone as well as the tech seems awesome. One thing that worries me though is apps/availability? And looking at the Windows store doesn't make me feel any better.

Personally I'm not really an app person myself per se, my Samsung Galaxy S3 hasn't increased in apps since I got it a few years back, and it's not like I've blown up the Windows app store downloading apps for my 8 machine, but... I do think the thing that may make or break Cortana's success are the availability or compatibility of apps.

    My two cents.

From what's been going on within the Windows Phone community, third party developers have been pretty decently adding apps like Vine and some top downloaded apps from android and ios. Granted, it's not right away, but when goods are delivered they're pretty excellent and sometimes even better than officially released apps for Windows Phone. There are certain things on Windows Phone like Camera Lenses that no other platform has that aren't taken advantage when ios/android developers bring their code to Windows Phone.

But nonetheless, 2013 was a MAJOR year for Windows Phone app wise, so many official apps were released that Windows Phone is actually now a consideration for development. The 8.1 update will just accelerate that since the SDK for it was leaked and many developers are welcoming the additions and changes.

We'll see as I think that's the only thing that could hold Microsoft back. One the flipside, if the phone is all it's purported to be, who needs apps

The phone on it's own is really decent.
Very Easy to navigate the most important things needed. (Texting, maps/navigation, calls, etc.)
The apps are just a bonus. And there are good apps, and a lot of not so good.
But what platform doesn't have bad apps?

WP is still an infant in terms of development, but after using both an android and an iphone recently
For the most important things the WP will be used for, it is very polished.
Don't skip looking it over closely, you won't be disappointed.

Edit: How good is the Camera using Nokia Camera App? Nokia 928
No it's not the best, but it does a very fine job.

These should give some contrast as to how good, with no filters or editing

I don't really care about the camera thing, it looks pretty decent and that's just enough for me... but I think Windows Phone is the most decent mobile OS in the market followed by Blackberry and then Android. I do really need a WP now!!!

I've tried Siri and Google Now and haven't been impressed at all with their capabilities. Why would Cortana work any better? Maybe in a few generations these so-called "personal assistant" applications will be useful but right now they're nothing more than interesting toy apps.

Well that's an easy one my friend... because it has to. If it works worse than Google Now or Siri, they will give the users another excuse to use Android/iPhones instead of Windows Phones!
