Reading through the articles I see no mention of how the transition will take place. I assume this will require an update of some kind to change the name SkyDrive within Windows 8 along with other products. Will this be an update or will it be included in 8.1.1?

I suppose they may issue an update that will just change the name in Window 8.1 though.

Legal battle or not, Skydrive still sounds better to me. I've been using it for years.

Its on the "Sky" because its a "cloud" service. I get the logic behind renaming it to ONEdrive because that means its one place to store and synchronize your data across devices but does "one" sound so few? I guess the naming has something similar to Live OneCare that MS decided to abandon years ago.

To me, MS currently has poor taste in naming and designing stuff. We will have to wait and see what comes new with this transition. Hopefully, more personalization options on the current profile page of Skydrive service.

It's Onedrive on my system after doing the leaked update 1. Well I assume that's what did it. I also did some Windows updates so can't say 100% it was Update 1.
