The beginning of the end of Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox is adding ad's to their browsers . IMHO the beginning of the end for what once, a long time ago in a galaxy far away , was a great browser.

We believe that if you put the user front and center, you can make every experience for them richer and more meaningful. The Content Services team has embraced this, and today I wanted to share some of our thinking and explain our first steps for putting it into practice.
When the user is at the center everyone benefits, including content creators whether they are publishers or marketers. Digital has already disrupted all kinds of industries, thanks in large part to its ability to deliver more choice and personalization for users. The challenge for digital media is that it is a rapidly-changing environment, and what worked yesterday might not work tomorrow.

They need to pay the bills somehow. I'd rather have them showing me removable ads and being honest about it than making money by tracking my browsing.

+1.. I'll just wait and see what happens with FF. It does take money to make and maintain a very good product like FF.
Let's hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

NOOOOO! Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will.

Recently, ads in Skype were compromised and they were serving up malware sites. My preference is for these programs to just perform their task. Give me an address bar and that's all I need.

Who cares as long as Pale Moon doesn't follow the same path, They don't have to since the source code is open source. Plus in my opinion Pale Moon runs better on Windows anyway.

I would think that if FF goes that path it's likely that Pale Moon would as well. Unless they have enough individuals that will volunteer to keep up the development of the browser.

FireFox has included bookmarks for suggested sites ever since I can remember so I don't consider this any different. I've always ignored and or deleted suggested sites in every browser I've ever used and will continue to do so. I also run the Adblock extension which greatly reduces the number of ads that I am subjected to.

On my Android phone I use a number of apps that are free because they show ads at the bottom of the screen. I completely ignore them, I don't read them and I never click on them.

On my TV, I record most shows I watch and one great advantage to that is that I can skip the commercials.

Yea, "Toady" of Cyberfox has already stated he would remove it from any future release, should the Firefox team actually go ahead with this...
