Nope. All I did was install Pale Moon then insert my FF profile to it.

I also installed it on a Win7 laptop with 1 GB memory and other machines as well.

It really shines through on the Win 7 laptop because it uses about 100 MB less memory on average and also, it starts much more quickly due to stripped out code. (Again, same profile used from FF, so comparison is fair here.)

Yeah, I installed Pale Moon yesterday, all my options I had in FF work fine (adblock, etc). seems to load a few page a bit faster than FF.

Mozilla's top exec defends in-Firefox ads, revenue search

Computerworld - The chairwoman of Mozilla Foundation, the non-profit that funds the development of Firefox, last week defended the decision to pursue in-browser ads, saying that it's important to generate revenue.

"To explicitly address the question of whether we care about generating revenue and sustaining Mozilla's work, the answer is yes," Mitchell Baker, former CEO of Mozilla Corp., the subsidiary responsible for Firefox, and now the chair of the parent foundation, wrote on a blog Thursday. "In fact, many of us feel responsible to do exactly this."

Thank you Labeeman. I don't want to get all huffy and puffy over it, but Mozilla has lost my respect completely. 0% left. I will continue to use Pale Moon as I have, because the browser itself is good and I trust that Pale Moon maker will strip out ads just like the other nonsense code he has already stripped.

They know their users and supporters use it because of what they were. Precisely for what they were. And now they are selling out completely by kicking their loyal user base in the shins. L o s t A l l R e s p e c t.

How does FF pay the bills without some way to generate revenue?? "Selling out""?? That's a bit harsh.. it takes bucks to develop and maintain and kind of software.

Very simple. Put a notice to the world that they need volunteers to continue development. That void would be filled by enthusiasts, excellent ones at that, by the end of the day.

Another way forward is to scrap the unnecessary rapid release schedule.

If so inclined, they could then put a link to donate to volunteers in the About section.

But nothing of this sort will happen, because it appears like I said, that they have sold out.

How did they make it this far without ads? That method just poof vanish? heh nah

I have been using Pale Moon for some time now. It is the little things that FF has done and not done that caused me to switch over.
I do not like the rapid release cycle either.

I don't mean to hijack this thread - but has anyone heard anything about ads in Mozilla Thunderbird as well as Firefox? A little concerned since I use Thunderbird now.

As long as you mean "AdBlock Edge" and not "Adblock Plus". Wladimir sold out hardcore as well. Besides, Edge is technically superior and literally faster too, anyway.
