Yup... Windows 8.1 only. The IT guy at my work installed StartIsBack on my workstation there but I'm indifferent on it.
For what its worth I've upgraded my two desktops and my laptop to 8.1 and I don't use any third party start menu.

What I wonder, I suspect many XP users have not switched perhaps because of expense, Windows 8 is really for higher end machines, so I imagine Windows 7 will be the upgrade path for many. But if they do start shopping for PCs, I wonder how many will dump Windows in favor of chromebooks and the such?

What is the old adage "One should be careful, what one wishes for..."

Safety and security lies in the index finger, not in the operating system.

90% or more of the time that's true, but some pretty reputable web sites got hacked with code that specifically looks for unpatched vulnerabilities in your web browser. It won't take long for them to find a venerability in XP that they know will never be patched and actively try to exploit it. Do a Google search and see how many pages are fake and what is the real site and how far down in ranking the real site is. A lot of people have a hard time picking the real URL out of the list.

    Thanks for that link.

I defintiely prefer MATE to Gnome3 and Unity.

IMO, Unity is awful and the only good thing I have to say about it is, it is better than Metro.
