    I think the Gnome3 is the problem. That's e.g. why Cinnamon is not that great. The Gnome2 Mate version is a lot better - at least in my book.

    The unity thing doesn't cover the entire screen, you can see through it, and the taskbar is always visible.

    Most surprising to me is "other" - That much of a percentage, although low it is still significant, run Server or 2000 or gasp 98/98SE/ME? *shrugs*

    Maybe some Linux users did not notice "Windows" in the question.

    Yup... Windows 8.1 only. The IT guy at my work installed StartIsBack on my workstation there but I'm indifferent on it.
