Microsoft is the most trustable company and brand

A new study from Forrester may surprise you: Microsoft — not Apple — is doing a better job of building its consumer brand.

A survey of 4,551 U.S. adults showed the most trusted and essential tech brand as Microsoft — Forrester called it a “surprise upset.” In fact, the Redmond software giant was the only company to achieve the highest “trailblazer” status in the study’s TRUE rankings, with Apple, Sony and Samsung following. The study found that although Apple had the highest overall rank for being “unmistakable,” and, “remarkable,” consumers do not consider the company to be as essential as Microsoft.

Forrester applauded Microsoft moving away from an individual product marketing approach this past summer when it announced its new "One Microsoft” company hierarchy. It also noted the Microsoft Store, which helps give “consumers a unified brand experience across all of its devices.”

Study shows Microsoft outpacing Apple in battle for tech consumer mindshare - GeekWire

Of course when it's Microsoft being top at something like this, no one cares...

I bet the folks at Redmond must be relishing this. There was this one piece I read from Quora.com and it was a question posed of what it's like to work at Microsoft and someone actually said it can suck, not because of stack ranking or office politics or anything like that, it's because EVERYONE and their mother's cat expects them fail. Whatever they do, they'll fail and be ran over by apple or Samsung or everyone else as per usual. Expect no innovation or anything great from Microsoft, move along.

Nope, they're the most trusted brand and even trailblazers. Not surprised.

Microsoft is the most trustable company and brand? I don't know why but that automatically made me laugh lol. Yeah after the whole xbox one scenario of caring more about money than the core players, yeah they're trustable alright.

Yes,

On a scale of 1 - 10 ..... 1 not trusted -and- 10 very trusted

Apple got a 1
.
. everyone else is in-between
.
Microsoft got a 2

I don't think any of them merit any trust.

LOL. If you ask which is the most trustworthy? Very few people will say none. They will attempt to give some sort of ranking.

Then it is presented as if the results prove so and so is trustworthy.

Corporations are a product of our system.

I recall Justin King was asked ( paraphrased a bit) "Why do you think you are worth a hundred times a nurse's salary?

He replied "I don't think that. It is the way our society rewards the different jobs we do."

Great answer, Justin.

Whoever reads this from MS , you might pass that on. I have no idea if Justin
would be up for it, but you never know.

Microsoft more trusted than Apple, study says | Technically Incorrect - CNET News

This article goes into some more depth about the reasoning why, oddly enough it's the fact that people can relate themselves better to Windows. Now that's something of can be made into interesting poetry...

apple ranked lower because of the polarization of the brand. EVERYONE here basically claims apple users to be iSheep (which for the most part is really true) and others point to the fact that apple's just "better."

You know what I don't trust? Cats, they like knocking things over for no reason.

oh I know I found that out after I bought the used MacBook ,also was told on a mac forum ,that even if I acquired the os 10.7 on dis and installed it ,the laptop would work poorly, so I just use it for surfing an music .
I find it odd that the app store does not have a section for older apps ,at least I cant find a link to any

I installed them on even older ones than that and worked just fine. 32 bit plain vanilla ones mind you but worked just fine. You may safely say that anything that would run win 2000/XP has no problem with W8.
AMD Athlon, socket 754, 1.6 GHz, 2GB memory, the last one couple of days ago and no drivers in "red". Works even better than XP that was on it before.

Hi there
You might just as well have said that the old STASI in East Germany were the most reliable Police service in the world !!!

Brand loyalty DOES exist of course (if it didn't would APPLE even exist as a company today -- hideously expensive products - but buyers love the brand), however the trustworthiness of companies is somewhat of a dubious statistic.

I'd probably TRUST the CIA to get the job done (whatever nefarious activity that might be) - but that doesn't mean to say that I LIKE that particular organisation .

Same with Ms -- people probably Trust the Windows / Office brands (within the known limitations) however that also doesn't mean to say they LOVE Ms.

Cheers

Got 8.1 on an old 'atom-powered' netbook (3G ram), classic shell + a few adjustments to alleviate the load, not what one could call fast but works fine. Despite my opinions on metro-modern and it's philosophy, am always impressed by MS's ability to make things work in the end.

stock market value of apple is almost half a billion dollars ,so said a market analyst on a Canadian morning news show today,
so it seems it matters not how much anyone likes either giant, they still make money

as for me ,i like my used mackbook i paid 280.00.cdn for it .,but would never pay 14 or 15 hundred for one ,i would not spend that much for either a windows of mac computer

Yes, because of a complete architecture change on the CPU itself. Guess what, you won't be able to install Windows RT on a desktop computer make 4 days ago for the very same reason.

Yeah, that's pretty much what the finding was, people trust Microsoft the most, find them to be "trailblazers" oddly enough, and say that Windows as well as Office are just simply the only way they can do anything with PCs. Also it was mentioned that people can relate themselves to Windows better.
