Basically, the company is committed to a rapid release cycle similar to Apple’s, in an attempt to keep its Windows users constantly updatedwith new features and improved performance.
Since Windows 8.1 is already bringing lots of improvements to Windows 8 adopters and Microsoft isn’t planning to launch service packs anymore, the company is said to be working on a new major update

There is something to look forward to. They are making an os for phones and tablets. What a surprise.
Windows 9 is said to continue improvements ? for the Modern ? UI, while also pushing the app store merger we told you about to a new level. Assuming (or hoping) this 8.2 update would make W8 usable, why would anyone switch to W8 when W9 is around the corner?

I thought it was "German Democratic Republic" or the Old East Germany -- perhaps the way Ms is forcing changes on unwilling consumers is rather reminiscent of how that particular failed state used to operate.
Reminds me a bit like the "Borg" in Star trek Voyager series -- "You Will comply -- Resistance is Futile .... You will be absorbed ..." -- Sevenofnine -- the most good looking woman in the entire Star trek series -- all of them.
Actually for my own part - after a minor tweak here and there I quite LIKE Windows 8.1 -- this is what Windows 8 SHOULD have been from the first.
-- Lesson to businesses -- being the FIRST to get a new product out there isn't always the best strategy -- do your Market research FIRST --- Look at Samsung -- the IPhone had a clear run for ages - but apart from your preference in style / looks can anybody doubt that the Samsung S4 phone is technologically inferior to the IPhone in any way whatsoever -- personal preferences aside of course - there are some who won't touch an APPLE product even if you gave it to them FREE and some who would avoid a Samsung product too.
