Will every user be able to download it at 12am, or will it be rolled out in waves for every product key?

Still unsure how the update will work

When it gets to the time, will the store tile get a '1' in the corner saying there is an update (are notifications like this instant)
or does going into the store trigger it to check for updates

don't now but Microsoft would be very silly not to release a ISO too as it was released for MSDN and TechNet less that hour to go I always got 8.1 hope they release the update then too

Are people really excited for Windows 8.1? I got Windows 8.1 since the beginning of October from my university for free. It's the same thing as Windows 8 with the exception of a start button. I don't see anything exciting about it but well whatever floats your boat.

Okay I admit the boot speed is very impressive on an HDD disk (5-8 seconds). But other than that nothing else seems exciting.
Metro is now multi monitor friendly instead of being limited to one screen only. It's flipped the coin for me as far as running 8 on my desktop goes. I can now run Metro apps on more than one screen at a time. You also have more options for the tile sizes and the Start Screen is improved. 8.1 does have advantages over 8, for me it does anyway.

Just a curious thought, and I am unsure if it is possible, but has anyone had an installation of Windows Xp and Upgraded to Vista, then 7, then 8, and finally 8.1? Or is that not even possible. I am assuming not as the hardware has changed a bunch from 2001 to 2014 (Now).

Upgraded to Windows 8, insane RAM cache. in Performance & Maintenance
So, I recently upgraded to Windows 8. And I noticed I started having some issues with performance in games (stuttering, etc). My question was, is it normal for Windows to eventually cache all the RAM available? It started out at 1GB, then started creeping up and has never once gone down in size. ...
Hi, I came into possession of a quite powerful, but last-gen, PC that came installed with Windows XP Pro OEM. Now at the moment I can't afford to upgrade all the internal parts so I chucked in a new graphics card to help it along and I upgraded it to Windows 8 Pro. My question is, in the future...
