    How do I download it?

On October 17th, Microsoft will be providing a download link for the Windows 8.1 Update. The update is free and will be available via the Windows Store. Beginning 12:00AM on October 18th in New Zealand, or 4:00AM October 17th in Redmond, Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 will begin rolling out worldwide as a free update. You will also be able to download an ISO image of the update, so you can do a clean installation if you so choose.

Just thought I should pass this on. Any thoughts on this?. Article was posted on Oct. 12th

Sounds like the upgrade thing from the store will be similar to the esd we had before. Should be easy to make an iso from that.

If there is also an iso available to d/l that would be better, it is more likely to contain a wim instead of the esd thing.

I wonder if it will let those who have used a different server to activate Windows 8 upgrade to 8.1?
Can't wait to use it either way

Its strange that is the only site that is saying this. If it were true it would be all over the net. I hope its true but won't make any bets as of yet.

I really hope the ISO download option part is true. If it is its going to make a lot of people very happy campers.

Just a curious thought, and I am unsure if it is possible, but has anyone had an installation of Windows Xp and Upgraded to Vista, then 7, then 8, and finally 8.1? Or is that not even possible. I am assuming not as the hardware has changed a bunch from 2001 to 2014 (Now).

Upgraded to Windows 8, insane RAM cache. in Performance & Maintenance
So, I recently upgraded to Windows 8. And I noticed I started having some issues with performance in games (stuttering, etc). My question was, is it normal for Windows to eventually cache all the RAM available? It started out at 1GB, then started creeping up and has never once gone down in size. ...
Hi, I came into possession of a quite powerful, but last-gen, PC that came installed with Windows XP Pro OEM. Now at the moment I can't afford to upgrade all the internal parts so I chucked in a new graphics card to help it along and I upgraded it to Windows 8 Pro. My question is, in the future...
