    Last week, I spent some time in Redmond with the Windows Server and System Center teams to learn more about how Microsoft is delivering the R2 refresh of its server and management tools and how they fit together to build what Microsoft is calling the "CloudOS".

    Seems like a complex and evolved version of the old BBS system.
    (except, now, subscriptions - annual fees - for cloud service of any type,
    including antivirus services, are unfortunately becoming the standard procedure)

    Anyone can theoretically set up their own cloud service.

    If you have seen the cost of Server products, I think MS would prefer to sell Server software.

    The term CloudOS is vague. If the kernel is external, then the source OS is not local.

Hi, I became a member of dreamspark simply because they offer Windows 8 for free. I became a vertifyed member only to find out that they dont offer Windows 8 for free to Students. However they do offer Windows Server 2012 free to student. what is it?? Can i use it as Windows 8?
