Windows 8 to increase PC production costs

Microsoft’s new Windows 8 OA 3.0 verification system will add complication and costs for ODMs (Original Device Manufacturers) who create and build PCs for the big name OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers). These costs will, undoubtedly, be passed on to us, the consumers.

I think not. The way we're going now it'll probably cause no price change. If it does go up, it'll be pennies on the dime.

I think that, in light of the continuing trend of falling hardware prices, some folks are just using this as an excuse to justify raising their prices in the marketplace. IF they ALL do that, this whining will work; if some of them do not, it's those suppliers that will make the big sales.

It makes sense, but I hope it wont happen. Hardware price drop is a function of inovation... and that should not change.
