When are they going to fix the Bookmarks Manager and glitchy Spell Checker?

I used Firefox for many years (I still use FF in Linux and my VMs though), but I've swapped to Pale Moon (64 bit) on my W7 install.
It has the annoyances I mentioned above, but at least I can sort folders that have >1000 bookmarks in them.

I can't say that I've noticed any speed improvements though.
I suspect that the bottlenecks are in the Internet itself, rather than the browsers.

I also use Pale Moon.
Works pretty well.

I agree about the speed, browser does its best but a 'bad' site will always be slower than a 'better' one.
Some connections are slow, even if you got top notch hardware, you wait for something to load.

When are they going to fix the Bookmarks Manager and glitchy Spell Checker?
Can you elaborate a bit more?

Folders that have a lot of bookmarks in them (>1000), break the "Sort By Name" function (i.e. it won't sort them).
Pale Moon (64 bit) can sort that category of folders.

After searching for a bookmark, I can't determine its location (path) from the search results.
I have a lot of bookmarks stored in lots of folders, sub-folders, sub-sub-folders and so on.
Various sub-folders have similar names.

For example I have a top level folder for program help and a top level folder for program installer downloads.
This means I have sub-folders named "Macrium Reflect" in both of those locations (this is a trivial example).
My folder containing Windows fixes, tips, etc. has multiple levels and has sections for XP, W7 and W8.

That's just my "PC" Firefox profile.
My bookmarks got so out of control, that several years ago I created 7 different FF profiles and split my bookmarks into the appropriate profile, to try to make them easier to manage.

The Spell Checker often "gives up".
If I don't correct spelling errors when they occur, after a while the error highlighting goes away.
I have to disable it and re-enable it to get the highlighting to return.

These issues may only be occurring on my PC though (YMMV).
However they have persisted even after a complete reinstall of Windows (XP & W7) and my programs (September last year).

As for your "bookmarks" issue....all I can say is "holy crap" that's a lot of freaking bookmarks. That issue, you might want to take it directly to FF developers and see what they say. They may have a work around for you.

As for the spell checker, I've never had an issue with there spell checker. It could be related to a plugin of some kind.

I'm a compulsive hoarder. :)

I've got ~22 MB of bookmarks spread across 7 FF Profiles (now Pale Moon Profiles).
That's about 7 years of bookmarking.

I wouldn't be surprised to discover that 100s, if not 1000s, of them are dead now.

It may be a 32 bit vs 64 bit issue (I'm not sure how it could be though), as Pale Moon (64 bit) can sort large numbers of bookmarks without any issues.

It's possible.

I too keep a lot of bookmarks, sorted within multiple folders and the bookmarks menu is a disaster comparing to IE. I used "Plain Old Favorites" long time but from couple of versions ago it stopped working, could not find a suitable replacement yet. What's even worse, import form IE favorites does not work properly, it won't import all of them any more.
