I would dump by Surface RT for a Surface 2 if it had LTE and a digitizer.

Why? You don't think a 50% increase in battery life from the Haswell chipset is a good enough reason?
I don't think the 9 people who bought a Surface Pro will want to upgrade yet. And without a price drop, I don't see a lot of other people buying this unit.

    Microsoft's Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2: Too-high prices mean they're non-starters

Microsoft's Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 have gotten some nice hardware refreshes, but they're still priced too high -- so high that it's unlikely they'll seriously compete against the iPad or Android tablets. Think of them as Ballmer's last stand.

No LTE, but it does have a digitizer. Comes in up to 512GB of SSD, 8GB of RAM on an i5 1.6Ghz and a 1920x1080 display. Expensive in that configuration i'm sure, but that would actually be a pretty nice development workstation, particularly since it includes a DisplayPort output (so you can daisychain a couple of monitors).

Surface 2 not Pro 2, I don't need legacy apps on my consumption tablet. Pro 2 is nice though, maybe when it's time to replace my laptop i'll look at that.

He is talking about the Surface 2, it now has the same screen that the previous Surface Pro had.

Still far too overpriced to get a foothold in the market.

    Meet the new Surface Pros

    Microsoftstore.com

You know for the original pro and rt i would have thought they would have brought them down $200 each given how well they did
They raised the price $100 for each unit and the pro has no Office pre installed, you would think for these prices they should have had office 2013 in it like the rt 8.1 that now has a full suite of office 2013 including outook, very disappointing
And i cannot see anyone purchasing a 32 gig when you do not get 32 gig you wind up with 15 gig if you are lucky out of the box, the rest is the OS and Office

The surface 2 RT with 64 gigs for $579 is not too bad. Microsoft is adding skydrive with 200gigs usage, not like the 7 gigs now and unlimited skype minutes and also is including Outlook in office 2013. So if one is looking for something similar to the ipad but more productivity this is the one to look at
