Microsoft Surface naming debacle about to get worse

If that's true, then the confusion will continue...

I am not sure why they cannot use a naming convention that makes more sense, such as "Windows Mobile Tablet", and "Windows Mobile Phone". They could keep the name for Windows Surface Pro, if they love it so much, or change it to "Windows Ultrabook". It would remove some of the confusion that the end users have about the RT and Pro...

Works, most of the times unless Microsoft patches decide otherwise...
Not that hard to explain really, at least I've never had an issue explaining my Surface RT to anyone. Besides, RT has been available for almost a year, the media has complained ad nauseam about the differences and it's on the Windows RT device retail box..."DOES NOT RUN LEGACY WINDOWS APPLICATIONS, ONLY STORE APPS". If consumers are still confused you have to wonder about the intelligence level of the average consumer.

That's right, blame consumers. They're not going to be the ones who suffer the consequences of Microsoft incomprehensible marketing, but Microsoft. Consumers will just keep on happily buying iPads.

You might want to read that again. There is a Surface RT, a Surface Pro, a Surface 2 and a Surface 2 Pro. There is no 1. The Surface 2 is an RT device but that's not obvious from its name.

I haven't seen an actual Box anywhere near any of the display models, or any obvious mention that it won't run Legacy Windows Applications. Also, depending on what clerk you ask you'll get a yes, no or I don't know answer. Buyer beware.
