Mozilla to Launch Firefox 26 for Windows 8 with Metro Supp

Mozilla is already working on its very own Metro version of Firefox for Windows 8 and a new report claims that the company is still on track to release it later this year.

gHacks.net writes that Firefox 26 will be the first version of Mozilla’s popular browser that will bring a Metro version for Windows 8 users. This release is expected to be unveiled on December 10, after reaching the Aurora channel on September 18 and the Beta one on October 31.

Nice. Love FF. Been waiting on the Modern version since they released the beta, only to hear nothing of it since a few months back.

I'm using FF 26 right now - in the form of x64 Nightly. Have no idea whether or not it has a "modern" version - I have no interest in running programs full screen. I'm more interested in the 64-bit version of the browser - but sadly, this is only available in the Nightly version.

Nightly has a Metro tile that works just like the IE tile does, but I don't use it. I made a taskbar icon from the actual Nightly exec file, and it works "normally" from the desktop.

You could use Pale Moon (64 bit) which is a "fork" of Firefox.

NoScript seems to work in it.

Chrome and Opera will also provide alternative to IE. For people who don't like the Metro UI, they can just pin the non-metro browser(s) to the desktop and the start screen.
