Microsoft: Windows 8 Has Logged 60 Billion Hours of Usage

Even though statistics indicate that Windows 8 has barely reached a 5 percent market share in June 2013, Microsoft claims that everything is going according to plan until now.

Tami Reller, Microsoft’s Chief Marketing Officer for Windows, revealed at the Worldwide Partner Conference 2013 in Houston that Windows 8 has logged no less than 60 billion hours of usage since launch.
Microsoft: Windows 8 Has Logged 60 Billion Hours of Usage

I wonder how they came up with that figure?

Telemetry, of course.

Hi there
This number (60 billion hrs of usage) obviously came from the same school of statistics that calculates the number of litres of water that would returned to the planet by the number of Humans on the planet relieving themselves between any time period (/ sec / hr / min etc).

With a total world population of approx. 8 Billion the volume returned back to the planet per hour for instance would surprise you for sure. - Any Greenpeace members here -- could you suggest a possible answer to this little poser. !!!!

Cheers
jimbo
