Oh now Andy! It's only one of the few times it pays to be an American!

Hang in there! Perhaps in a few hours when the servers cool down you'll get your chance.
Good luck to you Tony, as for me, it's a total disappointment
Looking at that again it sounded cocky. I didn't mean it that way.

I guess it looks like the En-GB is not on the supported language as Andy just posted. I really am sorry to hear that.

Download finished, building my installation USB key right now. Then, off to a 23" Acer All in One to install this onto and see what we get.

    • If you upgrade from Windows 8/Windows RT to Windows 8.1 Preview/Windows RT 8.1 Preview, you will not lose anything. All settings, data and apps will carry over unless as mentioned above you are installing Windows 8.1 Preview in a language that's different from the language currently on your PC.

    • If upgrading from Windows 8.1 Preview/Windows 8.1 RT Preview to Windows 8.1 final/Windows 8.1 RT final (when released later this year), you will have to reinstall all of your desktop apps.

    • If upgrading from Windows 8/Windows RT to Windows 8.1 final/Windows RT 8.1 final (when released later this year), you will not lose anything. All settings, data and apps will carry over unless you are installing Windows 8.1 final in a language that's different from the language currently on your PC.

    • If you're running Windows RT you won't be able to restore Windows RT after you install Windows RT 8.1 Preview. You'll be able to upgrade to the final version of Windows RT 8.1. If installation of Windows RT 8.1 Preview fails on your PC, you may need to contact your PC manufacturer.

how does option two make any sense?
