"Patches" will not fix a Leaky OS! Only Proper Security Habits do that...

On a Side-Note - I shut off my Metro Auto-Updates which were causing my OS to lock up when BITS starts and stops. But BITS is still starting and looking for updates, and still locking me up!

So I added these downdates - I always call then downdates because they remove functionality sometimes, they suppress or "security-ize" actions which could formerly be performed without having to assign extra permissions to the Folder, File, or Reg Entry you wish to work on - Or even Office Documents, some of these have been locked out of my OS after one of these downgrades -

It took 2 reboots to install them, this is a first. Since it takes about 6 minutes to fully shut down and reboot, I was down for half an hour installing these downdates. And my OS is still locking up when BITS starts running.

I rarely have problems with updates. I administer the updates server for my company. It is almost always smooth sailing, sorry to hear you're experience is different.

Did today's updates reboot you twice? I've never seen updates reboot me mroe than once. I always complain about updates, but I do install them. I always read the details though, to make sure it is something that will benefit me. Like today, there was a Camera update, I don't have a Camera on any of my machines, so I passed on that one.

I also noticed 2 reboots. The first one went through all the configuration and then it rebooted again but was real quick.

I havn't had a failure since the start. Although it's always a long wait to download from the servers.
