    Hi SIW2,

Now you know two, and guess what I didn't replace it with win 7. Albeit I have win 7 in a VM. I know it is not the same thing.

    I don't know you Lee.

    Just one hapless 8 purchaser.

He is ok now he has 7.

I am surprised I haven't come across more in real life.

Admittedly, many I know have macs.

I pinned my Start Menu items on my Start Screen. I think this will also do.

Though if Microsoft does bring it back won't that upset developers who have made a good deal of money from the sales of third party Start Bottoms. . .
Me too, I liked Aero, just looks better. I don't understand why they took it out, i'e never heard of any problems related to it. WinAero has a program that adds transparency, but it's too much.

I'm sure that Microsoft, with their user experience program, found out that the majority of people turned off Aero and so it was not needed, just like the start button.

It is possible they might put in a start button - that will open the start screen.
The very thing many are trying to escape from.

A start menu is what many desire.

    Windows 8 Pro and RT

Now that I have Windows 8 Pro on my desktop and the Windows RT Surface (No need to have two PCs) I just want them to setup Blue so you can use one interface paradigm. It really annoys me to be in either RT or Pro and find myself in the Desktop UI after launching Word 2013. If I wanted to run in the desktop I would, and why on earth is your newest app, written in the Modern UI motif, kicking me to the desktop?

Bring back the start button and desktop boot? Sure, it has its purpose in today's world still. However, for folks that want to learn and use the Modern UI, let them stay there as well, especially in RT. WTFrankenstein, it's a touch tablet, we don't want the desktop.

I don't know anyone who bought 8. It seems it's still a pretty unknown or avoided OS.
