Well, that makes some sense, because directx 9 is still the base of everything else, and newer x versions are just big puffs - they introduced new directx version, released a few games with it (of course, you still can play it with directx 9, newer x version was just like add-on
) and forgot it, then again introduced newer version and the same goes again and again... still majority of games are based on directx 9, just a very few are directx 11 or so... I dont think, that its worth to do same mistake again, its much more important to make the game interesting, bug-free as possible, and graphics of directx 11 is more than enough. Plus with all that pc / mobile os mixing, its just impossible to say, what with happen in near future, because windows 8 popularity is not something big, and if ms will go same way with next big os release (i mean, real release, not some stupid update like 8.1
), then its definitely not worth to develop directx 12, because even now, if some games would be only directx 11, without option to go back to x9, almost no one would buy it.
