No one knows yet, but most likely it will be a download from the Windows Store. I would imagine it might be a paid upgrade, but might have an early promotion offer like when Windows 8 launched when it was 40 dollars. Windows Blue might be the same thing, although new .iso images to download probably will have Blue already in it, so it could be a massive service pack with balls.

You need a Windows 8 PC to begin with to really understand Windows 8, or at least the proper peripherals of something with touch gesturing.
I have 3 windows 8 Pc's- 2 I upgraded- one laptop brand new- none touch
Windows blue is not just made for touch right?
It would be nice if Microsoft offered it as a free upgrade since it is the fixes that should have been in the now version of 8, or at least do something like they did for $14.99 if you own a new PC now or purchased an upgrade

Statistically, that is a very large number, as it represents the relatively known number of people who have been looking for an alternative. It doesn't include those who have gone back to Windows 7, bought Windows 8 (like me with two licences) and use it infrequently or are waiting for improvements, or the licences sitting in unsold computers.

The same can be said with the "the known Windows 8 sales numbers"... another case of "Statistic Misuse".

I told you so: The closer Metro goes to the classic Desktop, the better. Soon (in a year or two) we won't see much differences between the two.

It's not an issue on classic Desktop on all versions from W95 till W7. Yet, for the Modern Start Screen it is.

Still 4x more bloat than XP. What's so great about that?
And as a leaked version it doesn't come with all the garbage, that's why it's not 14Gb.

That's the crux of the story. Any stat showing how many users use W8/Metro as intended?

By a Windows 8 PC, I mean a LEGITMATE brand new PC such as the new laptop you have, for the touch gestures. And yes, Blue is fine for a mouse as well, although I have yet to figure out how to get to All Apps other than using the Search Charm at Start. There is a gesture you do, it's like a pull up motion to get to All Apps, a pull down to get back to Start. It's pretty neat to see it in action though, and also without touch too, that animation was like, "Whoa!" to me at least.

App linked to the control panel? Don't think you can do that. And you can tell automatically if its an app or not if it doesn't go full screen :>. If it has the chrome border, but been given the newer look then $$. They should be steadily moving a lot of the core utilities of the desktop over to the new look, as they turn them into apps, to unify the interface. Its basically a lot of the exact same code, just compiled in a seperate project depending on if you want a Store App or a traditional Application.

If they *only* have an app version, then thats troublesome.
