Yeah, it reminds me a lot of Windows 3.1. I'm dopwnloading the ISO, and may talk myself into installing it on the spare computer in our guest room. Up front, I should say that I'm 64 years old, therefore out of touch with current reality, so the "metro" style looks profoundly ugly to me (I quit using a Windows phone precisely because I really hated the look of it and how I had to use it). Again, up front, I can't really use touch screen technology, because I have a hereditary disease called CMT (Charcot-Marie-Tooth) disease, or Hereditary Motor and Sensory Neuropathy, so I not only can't feel what I'm doing with my fingertips, I can't control how I touch particularly well.
I'd be very grateful if anyone who may have decided to give the desktop UI a good going over would post screenshots and impressions of how it seems to work. Oh, and let me know if there are alternatives to the Metro style that don't just jettisoin all the 3D effects that I've really come to like in Windows 7.
PS--Download just finished in under half an hour (I have cable internet).

Is there a way to get the traditional START menu back?

Dual Monitor set up is nice.
