New Windows Boss Confirms Start Menu Is Not Coming Back

While a Start Menu would obviously make the transition (and for some, life) a lot easier, it would ultimately be a 180 for Microsoft and its future plans to integrate the PC with mobile devices.

As in politics, one week is a long time.

Who designed this garbage Metro? Men?

Ok now even women can't change it. Humanity is hopeless.

Damn I should have kept that picture for myself, he's a hero not a villain.

I don't think they will be keen to do that.

It takes a very big person to do a U turn.

It also rather affects their main thrust to monetarise the punters. Start screen is a major factor in that. Plucking the turkey without it squealing - I reckon a few people have noticed.

Chances of them turning win 8 around with Blue are increasing as time goes by. We shall see. There are other ways to prominently feature things that encourage the users into their monetisation scheme. It doesn't have to be forced by a full screen coming at you at every opportunity.

And they won't for probably another 3-6 months. The entire game atm is the mobile arena(specifically convertibles, a new device line exclusive to the Windows market) and everyone seems to know it but you.

PC adoption slow? So what. It was never an operating system designed specifically for the PC. It was designed to change the game and evolve the industry past where Apple could keep up. That doesn't happen overnight.
