With all this dillydally, I accidentally plugged in my Windows 7 HDD, seriously guys it is slow as molasses as Jimbo says. I really cant believe people complained about paying $39 for a much faster operating system.

I'm going to put masking tape on the slots in case I do it again.

I remember when Ubuntu first pushed Unity to the community people said it was the worst thing ever and said it would be the death of Ubuntu and long live Linux Mint. If you look now many users prefer Unity with it receiving more polish and people getting use to how it works. I just think Microsoft will just have to endure a similar problem while people adjust to it.

Actually guys, I'm getting bored, Jimbo said the other day that the Windows 7 forums was a nice place for Windows 8 guys to hang out. I'm thinking of joining up to see if I can convert some Windows 7 devotees, I think I'd fit in well there.

That's like saying someone is half pregnant. You either stick to facts or not.

However, your repertoire is so expansive that us mere mortals can't quite comprehend your near omnipotence on all things technology.

He may well be, but then why bother with forums trying to upsell Windows and down sell every other OS? If I was in that situation, I know I'd be more involved in other things than trying to be a Microsoft ubergeek.
I ask myself this, except I wonder why YOU are on a Windows 8 forum spouting off nonsense about it and say it's your opinion about it and that's that. This is literally like going to a BMW 5 series forum and saying BMW 5 series sedans suck, or going to a Mazda 626 forum saying that the car sucks or even going to an NRA meeting and saying guns are terrible. YOU'RE GOING TO GET PEOPLE IN A FIT. Seems awfully pointless to be on a forum just to do so to express opinions about a product when that would be better suited towards the actual company of Microsoft.

Windows 7 is weird for me to use... it's by far too shiny and the Aero Glass is kind of distracting actually. Why do things glow so much? Seems like trivial eye candy is enough to keep some happy. I bet if Windows 8 had that same UI design, there wouldn't be a single UI complaint.

What I meant was, sometimes I might get a percentage wrong or a number wrong, but I'm only talking minute things. If I'm really uncertain I'll check my facts.
I don't claim to know everything, in fact there's a lot of guys on here with a lot more knowledge than I have, but I do have a reasonable understanding of tech in general.
I don't try to talk people into what I believe either, but sometimes I might point out that things aren't as bad as they seem, especially Windows 8.
Some of the reasons people hate Windows 8 just don't make sense, things like the Start Menu and Shutdown button and booting into Metro. Like many have been saying 3rd party options and you're back to a faster Windows 7.
Jimbo even worked out how to get a Menu without 3rd party software. It seems to me there's very little left to complain about, and please don't mention MPI again.
